Black Thunder

Okuda Eizan - a local Tea Master from Shigaraki, came to teach us how to make a ceremonial bowl today.

We joined a group of local residents who attend the annual Raku firing at SCCP and observed Eizen San at work.

Later we took part in an informal Tea Ceremony and tasted the whipped green tea for the first time!

A sweet is provided on a paper napkin before taking the whipped tea as it is bitter to taste - with a flavour of cold spinach.
