Tomoko has been a guest artist at SCCP since December 2016 and is due to finish in April.
Her astonishing work is concerned with layering coloured clays to build up intricate vessels and forms in porcelain. The piece she is working on at the moment is called the 'Life Vase'.
Tomoko says that although people think it takes a long time to complete each piece, it is a relatively quick process, but in a very concentrated period of time.
She is sharing the space at SCCP with Shunichi Yabe - and together, whilst contrasting, their work complements the other.
Her exhibition 'Spring Up' is currently showing at the Sokyo Gallery in Kyoto until 25th March.
