Pots, chops and Raccoon Dogs

A pretty momentous day was rounded off in style this evening.

My first ceramics came from the kiln, followed by my first 'proper' Japanese restaurant meal at lunchtime, ending with meeting the cast of a regional TV show filming at SCCP!

The production team had filmed members of the artists' residency programme a few weeks beforehand (prior to my arrival) and were now back hosting their show live from the exhibition hall.

Julia Ocampo a fellow artist had been interviewed and was watching the programme on TV in the saloon. We then realised the live sections were being filmed on site so we made our way up the hill to the location.

Amongst the guests were a famous national champion Sumo Wrestler and the Shigaraki symbolic figure 'Tanuki' (Raccoon Dog).

Feeling just a little underdressed meeting the immaculate host of the show.
